“A Trophy Property in Pasadena… and an interesting story”

I am thrilled to share the exciting news of helping a wonderful family close on their first home in Los Angeles just last week! And they didn’t settle for anything less than extraordinary—we triumphed over multiple offers to secure a trophy property in the prestigious Estates section of Pasadena.

“242 S Grand Ave” is nestled on one of the most distinguished streets in this charming town, which is also home to Cal State University, the JPL Laboratory, and the iconic Rose Bowl. The area is enveloped by tree-canopied streets, offering a slower, more peaceful pace of life compared to the hustle and bustle of Hollywood, from where my clients relocated.

There’s an interesting story behind how this deal came to fruition.

Last year, I assisted a first-time buyer couple in purchasing a home on Mount Washington after an extensive 1.5-year search and numerous bidding wars. Our perseverance paid off, and they were overjoyed with their new home.

Unbeknownst to me, the husband’s father is a Realtor in Chicago. During a deal in Chicago, the family mentioned to him that they were interested in a property in L. A. The father reached out to me for my opinion on the property in question, and I was candid—it was an overpriced listing for a house needing significant repairs, located on a street that didn’t justify the asking price.

Grateful for the honest advice, the buyers asked me to represent them in their property search. Just a few weeks later, we discovered this gem in Pasadena. The moment they saw it, they knew it was the one! This grand old home, lovingly maintained over the decades, is now ready for a new family to create cherished memories.
